2017 Ignite the Ice Tournament a Great Success!
Submitted By Alanna Jarvis on Wednesday, February 22, 2017
The 2017 Ignite The Ice tournament has come and gone and was a huge success.  A big thank you to all of the families and players who volunteered in many ways --- in the registration room, at the raffle table, running Rink-O, and as off-ice officials.
Thanks also to the team managers who put together our raffle baskets, and to those of you who donated such great prizes...the Bieber tickets and the chocolate were a huge hit!

Some stats for you to consider:
9 divisions
28 referees
30 ringette associations
50 teams, some from Quebec and far northern Ontario
99 games
over 350 volunteer hours
over $25,000 in ice time
several thousand dollars in fundraising for your association!
Lots of work went into the planning of the event, and thanks to the great team we had a lot of fun doing it. Many hands make light work, so if you would like to get more involved in the 2018 tournament planning, we would love to hear from you!
Jeff Smithson (U14 & U16)
Georgina Drikos-Walters (U12)
