2021 Provincial Championships & Event Update
Submitted By Carl Puna on Tuesday, September 22, 2020
After careful consideration, the Ringette Ontario Board of Directors, in consultation with the RO Staff, have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 AA & A Provincial Championships and U12 Provincial Event.

This decision was not made lightly and took into consideration many factors, including the health and safety of our members during the current pandemic, provincial regulations limiting sporting events, and the financial risk to teams, Associations and Hosts.

We recognize that this will be a blow to the athletes and coaches who had aspired to compete at Provincials this season. However, the decision to cancel these events is both necessary and prudent. There will be many adjustments that we will have to make, but we call on all Ringette participants in Ontario to adopt an #ALLIN attitude and work together to enable our athletes to have a positive involvement in Ringette in this extraordinary year.

RO will be working with Associations on ways to adapt our programs and activities so that we can offer all of our athletes alternative programs that comply with health regulations and that are challenging and rewarding and contribute to their Ringette development.  Our goal is that participation in Ringette continues to benefit the physical, social, and mental health of the members of our community. It is needed now more than ever!

Thank you for your continued patience, your resilience, and your trust in us and our Associations.

Yours in Ringette,

John Voss
