NDRA 2020/2021 Season Update
Dear NDRA Families,
We are writing to inform you that this evening, the NDRA Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to end our 2020-21 ringette season.
COVID-19 has influenced all of our processes and decision-making since the beginning of the season. Our current decision comes as a result of the recent mandate to place the Simcoe-Muskoka Public Health Unit into Grey (Lockdown) zone as of Monday, March 1. Given that NDRA membership is, and has always been, made up of athletes and coaches from two public health units, this new lockdown means that we are unable to return to the ice as anticipated.
In order to return to the ice at the beginning of our season, we entered into an agreement with Ringette Ontario to closely monitor the COVID situation in both Simcoe and York regions. Our current agreement with Ringette Ontario stipulates that we abide by the most restrictive Public Health guidelines. Our Simcoe members have been very tolerant of the more restrictive situations in York Region to date, which have governed our Ringette participation so far.
We will be in contact in the coming weeks about refunds, and about returning loaned equipment.
We thank everyone for their cooperation and collaboration during this difficult season, short as it has been. It has been a pleasure to see happy faces at the rink. We look forward to a much more rewarding 2021-22 season, and remain hopeful for a spring session.
Sincerely,
NDRA Board of Directors
